Need Player Input on Fabled/Dark World Empty
PostSubject: Need Player Input on Fabled/Dark World   Need Player Input on Fabled/Dark World EmptyWed Feb 08, 2012 8:34 pm

So there I was one day, sitting here in my office in afghanistan, lol (because everyday cant be about shooting enemies right) anyway an idea hit me for a deck, now I know its already been tried before and successfully ran with raven and tour guides, but on running on the chance that tour guide might get hit in March. Is there any other way to run dark world with fabled? Right now through my own playtesting of the materials that I have which as far as the two decks go is pretty much everything now counting ravens and tour guides, another reason i wanted to try the deck out without them...

All my efforts in trying to put something together have shown that it is pretty hard to put it together seamless and consistently, but I get that its dark world after all, we all know consistency is a big problem for the deck thats why the key pieces are ran at three, ie snoww and broww (search and draw on discard if you didnt already know)... I see dark worlds strong point its speed the deck accelerates like crazy once gates hits the field and power through most opponents with grapha, which is why they dont have a tuner just yet... While Fableds thrive on being discard fodder to unleash some pretty nice effects most of which involve inherent special summoning a very useful tactic to dodge raiohs and solemn judgement. A downside to all that summoning is the deck has a really long start up time and is really really slow in comparison to dark world. Not to mention harsh on the hand advantage but luckily thats already been resolved.

More of my research has led me to classify every dark world and fabled monster into three categories, weapons; theses cards are used to discard either dark world or fabled monsters for effects like gallabas and brron, ammo; these cards are most often the monsters who have effects once discarded like kruz and grapha, and support; basically the cards that are used to search, beatstick or w/e else until the weapons and ammo cards show up like grimro and snoww... Fabled has its biggest group of cards in the ammo group as does dark world but the key difference in the two is that fabled will go off regardless of discard as cost or not whereas dark world does not... In weapons all of fabled minus raven are cost-discard which is why raven was so vital to the blending of the decks in the first place, and dark world only has 2 weapon monsters Ceruli, and Brron. And to make matters worse the rule of three comes into play when trying to use them and at an odds of 40-45; 6 does not look good no matter how you slice it.

Now another reason i'm so determined to build this deck is because i LOVE playing chaos builds, mainly because when i first got into yugioh IOC was just released and the first card i pulled out of a pack was CS, BLS, and DMOC; and I jump at every chance i get to play them lol, not just because the are powerful cards but they were some of my first (ahh nostalgia, but i digress...) The point here is that with fabled and dark world burning so many light and dark monsters to the grave it was a no-brainer to use BLS, and Chaos sorceror, and because of gates and its innate ability to control the number of dark monsters in the graveyard it only makes sense that this deck is DAD-splashable.

I dont want to give up on the build but its really trying my patience to put this together, but i got a feeling if it works well and runs it can be a potential top-tier deck, but those are just aspirations of a duelist lol...

Any input you guys have here a DGA would be greatly appreciated
