Blackwings or Black Feathers (on KC)
The Blackwings are one of the most used meta decks. They have the ability to swarm the field fast and their effects make it hard for your opponents to beat you.
1) Monsters:
Blackwing – Sirocco the Dawn

This card’s effect lets you to rise the ATK of 1 of your Blackwing monsters by adding the ATK of all Blackwing monsters on the FIELD (including your opponents side of the field). The effect can be used only on your M1 or M2 (if you did not ATK this turn) and if you use it you can only ATK with the monster you used that effect on this turn so other monsters can’t ATK.
Blackwing – Bora the Spear

This card has a piercing damage effect and it can be special summon from your hand if you control another Blackwing monster (except Bora so if you have a Bora on the field you can’t special summon another Bora from your hand if you don’t have a BW monster with a different name then Bora). A combo that is used a lot is to summon Sirocco and special summon Bora then use Sirocco’s effect to raise Bora’s ATK and since Bora can make a piercing damage your opponent won’t be able to hide behind defense positioned monsters.
Blackwing – Elphin the Raven

You can normal summon this monster if you control a face-up BW monster. This cards effect can help you if your opponent has a monster with a good ATK but a bad DEF (like a Monarch). The effect is activated when this card is summoned and it is optional so you can’t activate it after the summon.
Blackwing – Kalut the Moon Shadow

This card’s effect can be activated from your hand on the damage step if any of your BW monsters is doing battle. It raises the ATK of the battling BW monster by 1400 ATK points until the END phase (so if it is attacked by another monster on the same battle phase don’t forget that it still has the extra 1400 ATK) This card’s effect works like honest and it is activated during the Damage step. If you are the one attacking then you have the priority to activate Kalut so your opponent can only chain a card that changes the ATK points of a monster and if you don’t use your priority and your opponent uses Honest/Kalut or such you can’t use it anymore on that attack. This effect is activated in the hand so it can’t be negated by such cars like Skill Drain or Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror.
Blackwing – Gale the Whirlwind

This card is very useful not only in a BW deck since it has the effect to halve the ATK points of a monster on the field permanently so not only until the end phase. It can also be special summoned from your hand if you control a BW monster with a different name. And for Gale being a tuner you can do a synchro summon easily to. His effect can be used once per turn on your M1 or M2 and it can be used on the same monster more then 1 time. If your opponent used a card effect to alter the ATK of his monster and you use Gale’s effect and the effect that alters the ATK points is gone the ATK of the monster stays the way as it has been set by Gale. (If a monster with 1000 ATK gains 700 ATK from “Rush Recklessly” until the end of the turn, and is then targeted by “Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind”, its ATK is now 850, and remains 850 even after “Rush Recklessly” expires)
Blackwing – Vayu the Emblem of Honor

While this card is on the field it can’t be used as a tuner monster UNLESS its effect is negated by another card’s effect like Skill Drain or Shura. While it is in the grave you can remove it and another Blackwing monster from play to summon a Blachwing synchro monster from the extra deck but its effects are negated. So Vayu + Sirocco = Armed Wing, Vayu + Armed Wing (Elphin) = Armor Master and Vayu + Armor Master = Silverwind the Ascendant (since it is summoned by Vayu’s effect and not by a synchro summon the 2 non-tuner condition is not applied) When you activate Vayu’s effect and royal oppression is chained to it, Vayu’s effect is negated but Vayu and the other monster you wanted to remove stay in the graveyard so you can use the effect once more (or as many times as you want)
Blackwing – Blizzard the Far North

When you normal summon this card (it can’t be special summoned) you can special summon one lvl 4 or lower BW monster from you grave in defense position so it help you to get an easy synchro summon.
Blackwing – Shura the Blue Flame
- Spoiler:
When this card destroys a monster by battle and sends it to the grave you can summon a BW monster from you deck that has 1500 ATK or less. If you destroy a monster and it does NOT go to the grave the effect is not activated. The effect activates on the damage step so it can’t be negated by cards like Royal Oppression. The monster summoned by this effect has it’s effects negated so the best choice for the summon is Vayu since you can use him for a synchro summon (because Vayu’s effect is negated) and if you summon Gale you can’t use Gales effect since it is negated. And you can’t use the effect to summon Blizzard because Blizzard can’t be special summoned.
Blackwing – Fane the Steel Chain

This card can ATK your opponent directly. You can use some card to increase its ATK points and make even an OTK. You can use Sirocco’s eff to increase this cards atk by combining the atk points of all the BW monsters on the field and some players use even Solidarity to make an OTK or a 2 turn kill with help of Fane.
Blackwing – Mistral the Silver Shield

This card has a low ATK and a decent DEF. After this card is destroyed and send to the graveyard you don’t take damage from the next atk on this turn. And don’t forget that this card is a tuner.
2) Synchro Monsters:
Blackwing Armed Wing
- Spoiler:
This card inflicts piercing damage like Bora but it gains 500 ATK points when it attacks a defense positioned monster. So you can do with this card the same as with Bora but you will inflict more damage.
Blackwing Armor Master
- Spoiler:
This card can’t be destroyed by battle and the controller of this card takes no damage. You can add a counter to a card that has battled with master and when you remove that counter the monster that has lost the counter will lose all of his ATK points until the end phase but the counter removal can only be done on your M1 or M2. Some players mistaken that and try to do it on the battle phase (don’t use every rule you see on the tv series)
Blackwing – Silverwind the Ascendant

If you synchro summon this card you need TWO non-tuner monsters. And you can all read the effect so I don’t need to explain it only that “the next” time mentioned in it can happen even after many turns. This card is more used with the combination with vayu + armor master and is summoned without its effect as a beater.
3) Support cards:
a) Support monsters:
Since all BW monsters are DARK you can always add DAD, Gorz is a good card too, some players even use Dark creator in BW decks. You can also use sangan in order to add some good BW monster to your hand but I wouldn’t recommend having a mystic tomato in a BW deck.
D.D. Crow:

This card is also dark and a winged-beast. It helps you to remove a monster from your opponent’s grave. It can also be used for Icarus Attack or allure of darkness.
Ryko the Lightsworn Hunter:

Since Vayu appeared ryko is used as a mill help to mill Vayu and Sirocco. It can also help against Consecrated Ligh.
b) Support spells:
Black Whirlwind:

This is the most useful spell in a BW deck since you can add a necessary BW monster to your hand. If you summon Sirocco you can add Shura or Bora. If you summon Shura or Bora you can add Kalut, Gale or Blizzard. With Kalut you can add Gale or Blizzard. When Royal Oppression is on the field and you want to use Blizzard effect without a danger summon him use his effect as chain link 1 and chain your whirlwind as chain link 2 so will the oppression lose its timing and your opponent won’t be able to activate it. If you summon a BW monster and the monster is not face-up on the field when this card resolves (Bottomless, torrential, book of moon...) then the effect of whirlwind disappears since the monsters atk is gone and you can't get without it a monster with lower atk.
Allure of Darkness:

Since all monster cards in your deck are dark this spell is a must in your deck.
Book of Moon:

This card helps you to protect a monster or to protect yourself from an attack. This card can also help against Consecrated Light.
Brain control

You can use in combination with Blizzard. Summon blizzard and with the effect a BW monster, tribute the BW monster you sp summoned and take control of an opponents monster then you can attack or tuner Blizzard and that monster.
Dark eruption:

It can bring you back a gale, kalut or blizzard.
Foolish Burial:

to drop vayu or sirocco

To bring some monster from RFG back to grave for DAD or blizzard

This card helps a BW deck a lot since it can destroy 2 of you opponent’s cars and since you can tribute a face-down BW monster it helps against Consecrated Light as well.
Royal Oppression:

this card is usefull in BW decks but you must be carefull with it. Activate it when you have the advantage or really must. Look also what I wrote about vayu and oppression and whirl + blizzard. Bw decks also have a lot of ways to destroy oppression so you can destroy your own card if needed.
Delta Crow – Anti Reverse

Against many s/t cards so use it in side
Fake Feather:

You can copy 1 of your opponents NORMAL traps (like Mirror Force).
Weaknesses:
Consecrated Light:

This is the card that gives BW's the hardest time. While this card is face-up on the field you can only set Dark type monsters but not summon or special summon. This card can't be destroyed by battle with dark monsters and no battle damage is applied to the controller of this card when this card battles a dark monster so not even piercing damage from Bora/Armed Wing.
Shadow-Imprisoning mirror:

No effects of dark monsters will work. But you still can special summon Bora or gale from the hand since it is a summoning condition. And klaut works to since he activates in the hand.
Trap hole:
- Spoiler:
Since the dangerous blackwings start from 1300 ATK trap hole is a good card to counter them. And after you destroy a BW monster and there are no others on your opponents field he won't be able to special summon other BW monsters. And if B Whirlwind is on the field it will lose its effect since the monster will be gone when it resolves.
Blackwing - Sirocco the Dawn:

This card can aldo be the weakness of BW monsters. If your opponent has BW monsters on the field you can summon this card and use its effect on itself. It will gain the atk of all BW monters on the field your opponents BW monsters included.
