The year is 2185. The Republic had been up for over 130 years. 135 to be precise. It was supposed to end all the wars. The last, great civil war that had happened between 2020 and 2050, was the last one. It was also the biggest one. After all the continents were merged with the mysterious power of Isdor, and all the countries were merged into The Republic in 2015, everything was supposed to be fine.
But it wasn't.
It only took 3 years before some of the people from the North realized that they needed oil. Lots of oil. So they asked for it from the guys in the East, but they refused. The oil had already been running low for some time and the Eastern people wanted to keep the rest for themselves. This did not please the Northerns. Nor the Southerns, who always had an alliance with the Northerns. The other alliance was between the Eastern people and the Western people. This created the "Cross-point" in the middle of The Republic, which was right between the two fighting people. It was in the dead-center of The Republic, and would once hold the greatest battle of the history of mankind.
After 2 years it got worse. The Northern tried to steal oil from the Eastern people, while breaking things in the meantime. This happened for a few months, until the Eastern people called war against The Northern. The Southern and the Western joined in at the same time.
Every male between 20 and 45 of age went for battle, this was over 2 billion people at the time. Women, children, and The Elderly didn't fight. Nor the Priests, who would later take control of The Republic. After the war had been going for 25 years, and the Great Battle of Cross-Point was in hand, The Elderly assembled. The Elderly were the people from the ages between 85 and 130. They also were the wisest people of The Republic. After a 4 year long assembly, they talked to the peoples. They said:
Today, we see that our land has been driven in to war. We wanted peace when the lands were merged, not this. Can't you see you are only slaying your fellow man?
After this speech, the Elderly left. No one is quite sure where, but they told they would return, if they found a good time for it.
But the war didn't end for another year. After that, the "Neo-soldiers", who were basically war-fanatic teenagers, started to tear things apart, basically vandalizing. All land was in ruins. Then the Priests came out of their Temples for the first time in 50 years. They took control. They used their powers of Doxien to clear everyone's minds of the people before the Merge. They took away everything from the "Old world" so no one would know, what it was like. Except them. And the Elderly.
Now, after 135 years of being lead by the Priests, a young man steps in. His name is Portox, and he doesn't know anything about the world before the Merge. He was born in 2165, so he's online 20. This is his story.
