| In this hard days, when cards like heavy storm got banned, alternative ways must be found for destroying spell and trap cards on the field. Greenkappa could represent such an alternative. It is a flip effect monster capable of destroying EXACTLY two face-down spell or trap cards on the field, and this is the feature that makes this card very versatile. Of course you can destroy two spell or trap cards your opponent controls, but if you combo it with Starlight Road you can special summon a Stardust Dragon from nothing! But you must be very careful when trying to play this combo, because it can be easy for your opponent to screw up your strategy. The effect of Greenkappa disappears if there are less than two face-down spell or trap cards on the field. But this is not the only pitfall for the combo Greenkappa + Starlight Road. When Greenkappa effect resolves you must have at least two spell or trap cards face-down on your side of the field. In this way you can select two of them as the target of Greenkappa effect. Of course Starlight Road must be on the field too when Greenkappa effect resolves, and you must be in the position to activate it, which usually means that you have to wait for your next turn (unless your opponent does activate cards like Lightning Vortex or Black Hole while you control at least two monsters). You cannot activate Starlight Road during the damage step because it has Spell Speed 2. This implies that you have to protect your face-down Greenkappa from being attacked by your opponent. This card must be flipped outside the damage step in order to be able to combo it with Starlight Road. You still can use Greenkappa effect to destroy two spell or trap cards your opponent controls, but beware that this card can also "backfire". If your opponent controls only one face-down spell or trap card when Greenkappa effect resolves and you control at least one face-down spell or trap card, you must choose one of your cards and destroy it.

| Nice article Phoenix, but I have one fix to apply to it. Flip effects don't activate in the damage step. The attack carries on against a face-down monster in this order: -Flip monster face-up -Damage Step(with Honest, Shrink all that stuff) -Flip effects -Send to Grave So Starlight can still be activated vs Greenkappa even if it was flipped via battle. Otherwise, nice article and nice combo, keep it going, you will improve over time ~~~Supreme_King~~~ | |
