While Order of Chaos packs plenty of new monsters for Decks like Ninjas, Wind-Ups, Photons, and the prehistoric Evols, it also fulfills a long-standing Duelist request for great Insect monsters. Get ready Insect fans, because your wildest dreams are about to come true when the Inzektors hit the tables! Inzektors are all about the hive mentality, teaming up to create terrifying combos that swarm and overwhelm the opponent. Here are three of the key monsters that make it happen:
These three Inzektors team up for devastating combos. They all have different specialties, but they share an effect that you’ll see on most “Inzektor” monsters:
Once per turn: You can equip 1 “Inzektor” monster from your hand or Graveyard to this card.
Most Inzektors aren’t much of a threat on their own, but each can give and get unique effects when they’re equipped with another Inzektor:
-If an Equip Card is sent to your Graveyard while equipped to Inzektor Dragonfly: You can Special Summon 1 “Inzektor” monster from your Deck, except Inzektor Dragonfly.
-If an Equip Card is sent to your Graveyard while equipped to Inzektor Centipede: You can add 1 “Inzektor” card from your Deck to your hand.
-While Inzektor Hornet is equipped to a monster: You can send it to the Graveyard to target 1 card on the field; destroy that target.
Each of these Inzektors gives a +3 Level bonus as well, and Inzektor Hornet even lends its Attack and Defense Points to whatever it’s equipped to. For now though, let’s focus on the three effects above. You could equip any “Inzektor” monsters in any combination you like, but the one you’ll want to equip the most is Inzektor Hornet. When Hornet is treated as an Equip Card, you activate its effect by sending it to the Graveyard to destroy any card on the field. Blowing stuff up is great, but since Inzektor Dragonfly and Inzektor Centipede both get effects when their Equip Cards are sent to the Graveyard, the really cool part about Hornet’s ability is that it can trigger Dragonfly and Centipede’s effects. Imagine this:
-Your opponent controls two cards: Thunder King Rai-Oh and a set Dimensional Prison. Not uncommon to see.
-You have Inzektor Dragonfly in your hand, and Inzektor Hornet in the Graveyard.
-Summon Inzektor Dragonfly, and use its effect to equip the Hornet from your Graveyard.
-Send Hornet to the Graveyard for its effect, destroying Thunder King. Because Dragonfly’s Equip Card was sent to the Graveyard, you can use its effect to Special Summon Inzektor Centipede from your Deck.
-Use Inzektor Centipede’s ability to equip it with Inzektor Hornet.
-Send Hornet to the Graveyard for its effect again, this time destroying your opponent’s Dimensional Prison. Since Centipede’s Equip Card was sent to the Graveyard, you can search your Deck for an “Inzektor” card and add it to your hand. Go get another Inzektor Dragonfly.
So what just happened? With only one card from your hand, you destroyed two of your opponent’s cards. You Special Summoned another monster from your Deck, and you added a card from your Deck to your hand. Think about that: your opponent lost two cards; you gained two cards; and next turn you can do it all over again because you searched another Dragonfly!
Dragonfly and Centipede have a combined ATK of 2600, so they can dish out some pretty good Battle Damage. They’re both Level 3 monsters, too, so you can overlay them for an Xyz Summon. Remember, Centipede can search any “Inzektor” card from your Deck, so this play can go in a lot of different directions. You could search the 2400 ATK Inzektor Giga-Mantis; the new Level 4 Inzektor Hopper; or even an Equip Spell like Inzektor Sword – Zektkaliber, or Inzektor Axe – Zektahawk.
The Inzektor deck is full of big plays, and we’ll teach you all about them in the coming weeks. But for now, remember that the Inzektor strategy is all about two things: destroying your opponent’s cards, and easy Rank 3 Xyz Summons. With simple combos that devastate the opponent’s field and develop your position, the Inzektors are going to be one of the deadliest Decks in Dueling history!!!!
