| Some of what Kevin wrote was interesting, but some if it sounds like he doesn't understand the game well enough. | |

| If the goal was to keep as few cards on the F&L list as possible, then why are multiple cards usually hit instead of the broken often times secret rare super expensive cards? Oh yeah because that ISN'T the goal of the F&L list, it's actually to promote the newest product... If the goal was as Kevin states, rather than hit Lumina, Charge of the Light Brigade, Necro Gardna and Honest, Konami would have just banned Judgment Dragon. | |

| I laughed so hard at this bit especially:
To prevent a situation where you feel “locked in” – where you HAVE to play with certain cards, or a certain Deck.
To keep it so there are choices for what Deck you play. Avoid having 1 dominant Deck.
and this:
Same decks – same cards – every Duel. Sound boring? You’re not the only one who thinks so.
Isn't the above already happening? I know dragons won last YCS but there have been the same decks dominating without any room for other archtypes.

| this was hilarious and depressing at the same time.
At least they explain their choices, which is a good thing. But there was so much wrong in these articles, I don't even know where to start.
It's a given they only care about sales and not much about game design. And they won't stop as long as people keep buying their stuff and attending 1200+ people YCSs. Can't blame them.

I blame them. They could have easily made the game balanced or at least more diverse with more broken decks to play while still making money. But that would actually require effort. Instead it's like it's always been: you either get really lucky and pull ridiculously overpowered cards or you pull absolute crap that's barely worth the cardboard it's printed on. There is no in between. Never has been, only difference now is it takes even less skill to pilot the overpowered stuff.

| Why should they make the effort to make the game better if they're successful now?
Yes the game is terribly designed, but soooo many people still keep buying cards and attending events.( YCS Long Beach was the biggest TCG tournament ever.)
Apparently people like this game , even if it's overpriced and unbalanced, cuz if they didn't they would just quit/take a break.(like me) No one forces you to play YGO.
Konami is actually a smart business and they must be doing something right.

| At least Konami attempts to keep the game balanced by saying they think about the choices they make but i think they are looking at it from the wrong perspective, the tcg in america needs its own individual focus that its definitiely not getting i mean even in the article he states that whatever he banned was based on asia, granted that might work for asia but its not what the american players need either there needs to be a longer list that incorporates both asia and american metas or there just needs to be two lists | |
