| Does it have to focus on Dark Magician himself? If not, you can use Breaker and Kycoo along with Jowgen the Spiritualist and combo them with Secret Village of Spellcasters and Safe Zone.
I won't give you my decklist directly but Summoner Monk, Breaker, Kycoo, Jowgen, Defender the Magical Knight( not sure of name but the one at thr left of breaker) amd even Lyla are good monster Choices to utilise with safe zone. Plus they are all LIGHT or DARk so use Black Luster Envoy and Chaos Sorcerer too (: Hope it helps.

then don't run the dark magician guys. there's no real way to make them competitive. spellcasters can be semi competitive. you can try spell counter spam or stun variants with village control and beaters. i don't currently have a build for either but i think funch does...

| Fortune ladies and village is fun. Also there's a spellcaster that stops people from using spells or traps and he's a beater. But he needs like 2 tributes. | |

| Competitive "Spellcasters"
Main Deck:40 Monsters:19 3 Gravekeeper's Spy 3 Gravekeeper's Commandant 3 Gravekeeper's Recruiter 3 Maxx "C" 3 Malefic Cyber End Dragon 2 Malefic Stardust Dragon 2 Gravekeeper's Descendant

Traps:9 3 Skill Drain 2 Solemn Warning 2 Torrential Tribute 1 Solemn Judgment 1 Starlight Road
Extra Deck:15 1 Chimeratech Fortress Dragon 3 Stardust Dragon 3 Cyber End Dragon 1 Gem-Knight Pearl 1 Number 39: Utopia 1 Number C39: Utopia Ray 1 Number 50: Black Corn 1 Steelswarm Roach 1 Vylon Disigma 1 Number 16: Conqueror of Colors 1 Verz Ouroboros
Side Deck:15 2 Bottomless Trap Hole 2 Smashing Ground 2 Thunder King Rai-Oh 2 Cyber Dragon 2 Effect Veiler 2 Chain Disappearance 1 Mirror Force 1 Mystical Space Typhoon 1 Deck Devastation Virus
Gravekeeper's are the best and by far most flexible theme of Spellcaster monsters. They're DARK which lets them use Allure of Darkness for card filtering. They have an amazing field spell which gives them all big buffs, and the monsters themselves are actually quite useful. With easy access to a field spell, the Malefic behemoths of become very useful, especially Cyber End because he's immense and can run over pretty much any threat out there. Skill Drain doesn't hurt the GKs themselves too badly and gives you yet another way of being able to handle the metagames top tier threats. The side deck is of course their to simply improve matchups in duesl 2 and 3. This deck might not exactly be what you had in mind, but if you want to run spellcasters and win, this is far and away the best you can do at the moment.

| It's a solid deck that accomplishes exactly what it's supposed to, which is combat the top tier decks of the current metagame. | |

| Right now Village Lock is actually better than simple GK's. Jowgen + Safe Zone + Secret Village is like an instant win. | |

| Good luck getting that lock actually set up though. Especially if you go second. Also that entire combo gets messed up super easily by Inzektors, which are one of the 3 tier one decks right now, so if your deck is super weak to one of them that's not a good place to start. Necrovalley at least prevents the equipment of Hornet from the Graveyard. | |

Your talking insanity. Inzektors says sup to jowen. Dino rabbit's fiendish chain says trolol. Wind-ups are already hand pwning you as you hope and pray you have that 3 card combo ready Anytime you have to be dependent of sealing your opponent without consistent searchers of said cards than your at the whim of your opponent This format has more monster effect driven cards and traps than spells. but if the format slows down then this deck will be wai more viable. But not this format
