yugioh game percentages

ok so people say that yugioh is all about luck and what not, i disagree, here is what i think the percentages are, but it was also a quick put together. feel free to give your serious input and tell me, and everyone else, what you think


50% deck build
30% strategy
15% knowing the opponents deck and how it plays
5% luck

Hmmm luck is more than that imo but heres what i think

45% Deck(not just net decking u need to knw ur deck and all cards/techs u have net deckers suck unless the edit and use the deck as cookie cutter)

20% Focus Focus focus focus
15% Luck Top decking and starting with gd hand while ur opponent doesnt
10% Knowing other ppls deck and how they run
10% having fun if ur not u wont go far

for those of you who want to know what we're all about, it's like this y'all. this is:

15% concentrated power of will
5% pleasure
50% pain
and 100% reason to remember the name

Really though i think all in all it breaks down like this
20% Cards selected for the deck and how they focus on achieving the players win condition, depending on what deck is ran its obvious that would limit the players choices on situation that arise and how the deck is capable of dealing with those threats.

15% Is know every possible combination in the deck after its been whittled in to a working form, how does this card benefit the entire deck, speed, recovery, execution, and counter most of the ideas of the combos are worked out here

25% Test play, Test Play, TEST PLAY: Here is where the players skills come into play how he pilots the deck against opponents real or illusory... Fine-tuning, tweaking, trying out new tech and combos that achieve victory. Finiding out exactly the value of each card to the deck and grinding out new combos and ideas and cards that better fit to the strategy.

20% Knowing the META: If you know what players are playing in your area you know how to effectively play against or in or even with the opposition... The trouble that gets most players here (as i learned from playing in VA and then moving to HI) is that there are certain things that are tailored to the good players in the area but, how do those ycs champions get over this, they research what the highest tier meta is and adjust expecting tough opponents.

15% Having Fun: Its simple not having fun can screw you because when the game gets too serious we play too serious rushing too soon and not thinking alll the way through. We "PLAY" the game to have fun

5% Luck: There is no other way to put it, "Luck-sacking", "top-decking" call it w/e but the fact is that there is definitely a stroke of luck involved when it comes to yug lol

There you have it... Didnt mean to take this so seriously but hey, I dont have much else to do on shift so why not...

30% Main Deck Build (most top tier decks, at least the main decks, are almost identical from build to build (ex most plant decks look like each other))
20% Luck (luck plays a HUGE factor in yugioh due to the tremendous power of cards and the sheer easiness of winning with those powerful cards)
15% Side Deck (knowing the metagame and how to appropriately handle it in games 2 and 3 is very important)
35% Knowing rulings and making smart plays and predictions. Definitely the most important thing, and the reason why most good players win more often than lose.

For carbon-copy netdeckers:
50% Netdeck
0% Skill
0% Strategy(they just read/watch and copy and some decks don't need it)
50% Luck

i think funch's is fairly accurate. maybe 15% on luck but it does play a fairly large part. but the REALLY important things are knowing how to play your deck and having a good deck.
