Ruling Questions. Empty
PostSubject: Ruling Questions.   Ruling Questions. EmptySun Feb 12, 2012 12:55 pm

These are official Konami ruling questions from the Judge Certification Exam. I figured this could help people get practice for up-coming conjurer's tests. I am not a certified judge nor do i have the answers for said tests. If one of our Admins/Mods/Judges would like to take the mantle of keeping an answer sheet it'd be appreciated. I hope this helps.
*If this isn't posted in the right section please just move it to where it should be & i apologize in advance for not knowing where to put it.
*This is the level one test.

1. Janice Sets a “Star Blast,” “Psychic Tuning,” and “Mystical Space Typhoon” during her Main Phase 1. During the same Main Phase, which card can she legally activate?

Star Blast
Normal Spell
Pay any number of Life Points in multiples of 500. Reduce the Level of 1 monster you control or that is in your hand by 1 for each 500 Life Points you paid, until the End Phase.

Psychic Tuning
Continuous Trap
Select 1 Psychic-Type monster in your Graveyard and Special Summon it in Attack Position. It is treated as a Tuner monster. When this card is removed from the field, destroy that monster. When that monster is removed from the field, destroy this card. When this card is sent to the Graveyard, take damage equal to that monster's Level x 400.

Mystical Space Typhoon
Quick-Play Spell
Destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card on the field.

“Star Blast”
“Psychic Tuning”
“Mystical Space Typhoon”
All of the above.
None of the above.

3. Chai has a face-up Attack Position “Garoth, Lightsworn Warrior” and a face-up Attack Position “Jain, Lightsworn Paladin” on his side of the field. He Tributes his “Jain, Lightsworn Paladin” to Tribute Summon “Celestia, Lightsworn Angel.” Upon the successful Tribute Summon, Chai activates the effect of “Celestia, Lightsworn Angel,” sending the last 4 cards of his Deck to the Graveyard, 2 of which are “Lightsworn” monsters. Which of the following is correct?

Garoth, Lightsworn Warrior
Effect Monster/LIGHT / Warrior / 4 Stars
ATK: 1850 DEF: 1300
Each time a card(s) is sent from your Deck to the Graveyard by the effect of a "Lightsworn" monster you control, except "Garoth, Lightsworn Warrior”, send the top 2 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard. Then, draw 1 card for each "Lightsworn" monster sent to the Graveyard by this effect.

Jain, Lightsworn Paladin
Effect Monster/LIGHT / Warrior / 4 Stars
ATK: 1800 DEF: 1200
If this card attacks an opponent's monster, it gains 300 ATK during the Damage Step only. During each of your End Phases, send the top 2 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard.

Celestia, Lightsworn Angel
Effect Monster/LIGHT / Fairy / 5 Stars
ATK: 2300 DEF: 200
When you Tribute Summon this card by Tributing a "Lightsworn" monster, you can send the top 4 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard to destroy up to 2 cards your opponent controls.

Chai loses the game since he no longer has any cards left in his Deck.
The effect of “Garoth, Lightsworn Warrior” activates. Chai is forced to draw from his Deck. Since he cannot Draw when required to, he loses the game.
The effect of “Garoth, Lightsworn Warrior” does not activate.
Chai was unable to Tribute Summon “Celestia, Lightsworn Angel” since it would cause him to lose the game.
None of the above.
