Weird that no one has done an article about this guy yet, so I will!

Reborn Tengu

Okay, everybody knows this card, right? It was first introduced as a sneak preview for Extreme Victory, and since them, it's the thing everybody talks about around town. It's 1700 atk makes it a good monster just to keep on the field, but the effect is why everybody uses it right now:

This card is the most perfect card used for summoning synchroes. And if it is now used a lot, wait until the XYZ comes out in TCG, you'll see it even more!

Most people use it to synchro with Genex Ally Birdman, by returning Tengu to hand to Special Summon Birdman, and then Tengu's effect to summon another one! that way you already have total level 7 on the field, and one tuner! you can easily synchro BRD, Ancient Sacred Wyvern or Psychic Lifetrancer!

And thanks to Pot of Avarice, you could easily summon up to 9 Tengus each duel!

No wonder it has become a see-every-time-card in YCS tournaments.

The effect can't be activated every time though, here are two times when you can not:

If tengu is returned to the deck from the field.
If tengu is removed while it's face down.

That's pretty much all there is to this card, try it, if you haven't all ready, and you'll love it :3

Cool mini article ruler, Tengu is pro . My favorite combo is double level 5 synch + 3rd Tengu with Bulb. Just one thing though: he doesn't count as being removed from the field when used for an exceed summon (to my knowledge. I could be wrong since there aren't many rulings on exceeds yet)

Another problem I've seen is the Ancient Wyvern bit, it can't be summoned unless a LIGHT tuner is used in the summoning. Other than that, cool mini-article.

Wyvern is as pro as ****, I think I may make an article about it xD

It wont be semi limited untils OCG gets it cuz Tengu is TCG exclusive !!!

In my mind Reborn Tengu's eff is kinda like Dandy's, so IMO it will be triggered when summoning a XYZ monster

Ruler, you are missing the point. Dandy triggers when he is sent to the graveyard. Tengu triggers when he is removed from the field. Dandy triggers even if it's Foolish etc. Tengu will not. Exceed materials stay in a middle zone between the field and grave and so Tengu is considered no longer on the field, yet still somewhat on the field, so he isn't abusable by exceed summon.

P.S: Yes, I refuse to call them Xyz.

yea, supreme, I just realized after I shut my computer, I remembered that Dandy was when sent to grave, not when removed from field *facepalm*

No need to ban it, limiting will do

A limited tengu is useless....it will only increase my rage.....

that's like limiting malicious haha
