X-Sabers!
X-Sabers are a series of earth monsters that allow the user to gain field and card advantage. This archetype is good for card advantage, field control, swarming, searching/deck thinning, and synchro summoning. Some of the best x-saber cards are not in KCVDS yet, but they are one of the hardest decks to compete against in real tournaments.
-Monsters
-X-Saber Airbellum
One of the best X-Sabers out there! Not only for the X-Saber deck but for almost any deck that synchro summons. When it does direct damage to your opponent, you discard a random card from their hand. It is a three star tuner, has pretty good attack strength, and is a target for Rescue Cat’s effect!
-X-Saber Emmersblade
When it’s destroyed by battle and sent to the grave, you can special summon a level 4 or lower X-Saber to the field from your deck. Emmersblade is a nice card to just set and let your opponent attack. Or you can go on the offensive and attack your opponent’s stronger monster with your emmersblade and special summon a stronger monster in the damage step when emmersblade goes to the grave! The only problem with it is that it’s really expensive in real life =P haha
-X-Saber Faultroll
If you have at least 2 X-Sabers on your field you can special summon this 2400 attack beatstick. Its second effect lets you special summon a level 4 or lower X-Saber to your field allowing you to swarm even more!
-X-Saber Fulhelmknight
Another 3 star tuner, you can negate 1 attack while it is face up on the field, and it’s second effect lets you swarm a little bit more. When you destroy a defense position monster by battle you can special summon a 4 star or lower X-saber from your grave.
-X-Saber Gardestrike
Yay! Another beatstick to swarm with! It’s kind of like cyber dragon. When you have at least 2 X-Sabers in your grave, and no monsters, you can special summon him.
-X-Saber Garsem
When it’s destroyed by a card effect you can search your deck for an X-Saber monster from your deck to your hand. And it gains 200 attack for every X-Saber on your field. Not that great of a card in my opinion, but its still and X-Saber haha.
-X-Saber Ragigura
When it’s summoned you can get an X-Saber monster from your grave to your hand. Then you can swarm all over again! haha
-X-Saber Pashuul
It’s a level 2 tuner and it can’t be destroyed by battle. The only downside is you lose 1000 LP every one of your opponent’s Standby Phases if it’s in defense position. Other than that it’s a really good level tuner!
-X-Saber Boggart Knight
This card is like a really strong Marauding Captain haha. When its normal summoned, you can special summon a level 4 or lower X-Saber from your hand. Again, good for swarming haha
-X-Saber Darksoul
One of the reasons X-Sabers are topping at every tournament. When it goes to the grave from your field you can search for any X-Saber monster from your deck and put it in your hand in the end phase. And Darksoul’s effect stacks, so if you bring it back from the grave and send it back to the grave you get to search for 2 monsters! It’s a level 3 beast-type monster so it’s a target for rescue cat. And its great synchro material since you want it to go to the grave haha.
There are a couple other X-Sabers like Anu Piranha, Axel, Galahad, Palomuro, and Uruz but they are not very competitive. And this is already getting pretty long haha
-Synchro Monsters
X-Saber Wayne
Another monster that gives you an extra special summon for swarming.
X-Saber Gottoms
One of the strongest synchro monsters in the game. And its effect lets you pretty much discard all of the cards in your opponent’s hand. since its easy to swarm you have a lot of monsters to tribute for gottom’s eff (including himself). Another cool thing about Gottoms is it doesn’t matter how many tuners you use when you synchro summon him. Usually you need 1 tuner and other non-tuner monsters.
X-Saber Hyunlei
When it is synchro summoned you can destroy up to 3 spell/trap cards on the field (including your own). Very easy to get out. Just rescue cat, airbellum and darksoul, synchro, destroy, and search in the end phase. Haha
X-Saber Urbellum
A good level 7 synchro monster. Not the best attack but it’s effect is pretty good. More card advantage haha
-Support
-Spells
Saber Slash
Destroy a number of face up cards on the field equal to the number of attack position X-Saber monsters on your field. Good for getting rid of monsters and hard to get rid of continuous spells/traps, but you have to destroy face up cards equal to the number of monsters. So if you have 2 X-Sabers on the field then you have to destroy 2 face up cards.
Saber Vault
Increases the attack of your X-Sabers. And it’s a field spell haha
Gottoms’ Emergency Call
If there is an X-Saber monster on the field you can special summon 2 X-Saber monsters to your side of the field from either player’s grave. This is a great card for X-Sabers and for decks that are playing against X-Sabers.
Saber Hole
If you have an X-Saber on your field you can negate the summon of a monster. And it’s a counter trap!
-Other
Rescue Cat
You can summon 2 beast type monsters from your deck. Airbellum and Darksoul are both beasts, so you can summon both and synchro for Hyunlei and clear their backrow or you can get Airbellum and Darksoul and special summon Faultroll from your hand.
Giant Rat
A good substitute for Emmersblade.
Summoner Monk
You can use him to get Rescue Cat and clear the field with Arcanite Magician or just get another level 4 X-Saber for some extra defense in a tight situation.
and of course, since this is a synchro heavy deck, there is the regular synchro support like mind control, brain control, etc.
With 4 tuners and a lot of support that allows you to swarm with this deck it would be crazy not to synchro!
and with 2 Faultroll, a Ragigura, and a Gottoms you can create an infinite loop with Gottoms's effect to discard all the cards in your opponent's hand! And if you add in a mass driver/cannon soldier you can make it an infinite loop OTK! haha
With all of the things you can do with this deck it is really a deck to be taken seriously, but with some of the cards missing on KCVDS this deck might not be able to be played to it's full potential. Until then X-Sabers should still be a pretty competitive deck if you know how to play them haha
