The event had 292 participants and took place on August 23-24, approximately one and a half weeks ago. It was still an important event though, because Duelist Alliance was finally legal.
After the event was finished, the meta essentially shaped into 3 decks: Shaddolls, Burning Abyss and Satellarknight, the latter taking first place. The fourth deck from the set, Yang Zing didn't make the cut (and wasn't even highly played), because it requires too much interaction from the opponent and has bad matchups accross the board, particularly Shaddoll. It remains a casual pick for now.
Only two other decks made it to the top 16, Bujins and Spellbooks.
Now that the meta is more defined, we'll probably see some Anti-Meta strategies on the rise.(Monarchs as Anti-Shaddoll)
Are Tellaknights the best deck? They have the most versatile and devastating side deck right now and you do play more games 2s and 3s than game 1s. Or will Shaddolls finally have a definite build and come out on top? The decklists that topped the YCS were more or less terrible...
Are Burning Abyss doomed to be the second or third best deck for now?
YCS Toronto , September 5-7 and ARGCS Indianapolis, September 20-21 will give us more answers. Also, don't forget that the format will end on the 30th of this month. A new banned list will come out, which can always change a lot of things.
