Another deck that went untouched by the Banlist are Fire Kings. The deck never took off, mainly because of Yaksha's later release in the TCG and because more powerful deck types like Dragons existed.
The deck gained a Tenki and while it has bad matchup against Prophecy and isn't on par with decks like Infernities or Mermails, it can still sneak away wins when you pilot it properly, especially against strategies that rely on swarming the field.
Another characteristic is the ability to side Skill Drain and Gozen Match, as well as Sacred Phoenix of Nephtys (against backrow heavy decks).
Fire Kings, in short , operate as a control deck which uses it's destruction floaters and cards like Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear to blow up the opponent's cards and gain massive card advantage. One important thing to remember is that you run 4 Dark Holes in this deck, so don't use them if you don't have to. Use Barong and friends to bait out some backrow, then slam down Garunix when your opponent is least prepared for it.
Techs you can try out: Forbidden Lance, Earthbound Immortal Ccarayhua (extra deck King of the Feral Imps if you run him), Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos, Call of the Haunted, Safe Zone,The Seal of Orichalcos
Have Fun!
