Since Fire Formation - Tenki is a really broken card and is becoming more and more common in a lot of decks (who would have thought?), I’ve decided to expand a bit on our old article.

https://tdga.forumotion.com/t3578-the-future-of-yugioh-fire-formation-tenkiFire Formation – Tenki: When this card is activated: You can add 1 Level 4 or lower Beast-Warrior-Type monster from your Deck to your hand. All Beast-Warrior-Type monsters you control gain 100 ATK. You can only activate 1 "Fire Formation - Tenki" per turn.
So, simply speaking, this is a Reinforcements of the Army for Beast-Warriors. One difference is that it stays on field and adds a 100 ATK points to all Beast-Warrior-Type monsters you control. Not bad, is it? But since it is a Continuous Spell, it also comes with a small weakness: if your opponent chains a card or an effect that will destroy Tenki when you activate it, you will not get the search. However, the card is definitely worth running in MANY decks and this weakness shouldn’t make you have second thoughts about it. Not to mention that it is a common card if you’re interested in playing it in real life.
Let us start with the most basic deck that uses it, the deck for which the card was originally created – Fire Fists. They have a lot of targets for Tenki, the two best being Bear and Gorilla. You need to destroy a strong monster your opponent controls or an annoying Spell/Trap, but you only have Tenki in hand...no problem! Search for one of them to fix the problem. And a little spoiler for those who do not follow the OCG: a broken little guy is to join them; Enthusiastic Beast Wolfberk. Wolfberk summons the other Lv 4s from the Graveyard. Totally OP, right? And of course the card is still at 3, so it will get you almost any monster that you need in this deck.
A second deck that profits from it immensely would be Constellar. Almost all of their combos require Constellar Kaust, even if he is at 3, getting him might be a problem sometimes. Well, luckily, Kaust is a Lv 4 Beast-Warrior. So Tenki stabilizes the deck to a level where it might even become Tier 1, if not at least Tier 1.5. Spam XYZ all the Rank 5s you want. Tenki is definitely your friend here.
Let’s move on to another deck that was mentioned by Scorpion67 in the previous article. That would be Gladiator Beasts. Laquari, the decks beat-stick, just happens to be a Beast-Warrior. Fortunately his close friend, Darius, is of the same type as he. The problem that most Gladiator Beast decks previously had was to get monsters, since they run a lot of backrow. Now that we have Tenki, that problem is fixed, isn’t it?
An interesting card that is also being tried in this deck together with Tenki is The Big Cattle Drive: “If you control a Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast-Type monster: Draw 1 card for each of those Monster Types you control. You cannot activate other Spell/Trap Cards or effects during the turn you activate this card.” For some draw power. Search for your Tenki Target, Summon it and Special Summon Test Tiger then activate this card for a Pot of Greed effect.
Another interesting deck that emerged because of Tenki is Koa’ki Fists. The deck consists of mostly Beast-Warriors. The main idea is to swarm and search with Brotherhood of the Fire Fists – Tiger King, for loads of advantage. And to get it early, you can use Rescue Rabbit to get out Vorse Raider or Gene-Warped Warwolf, two vanilla Beast-Warrior beat-sticks. Or you get Koa’ki Meiru Urnight and use his effect to get out Koa’ki Meiru Crusader. Rescue Rabbit and Urnight or two Urnights with Meiru Core make good combinations. Summon a Tiger King search and activate Tensu and you get another 2 Beast-Warriors lvl 4 on field, not too bad. The rest should be self-explanatory. If not feel free to ask me. https://tdga.forumotion.com/t3606-koa-ki-fists#31378One of the older spam decks that needed a bit of a set-up can use Tenki as well. Which one you ask? That would be X-Sabers, since Boggart Knight and Ragigura just happen to be Beast-Warriors. Isn’t that just dandy?
Not to mention that one of the meta decks is starting to use Tenki…Wind-Ups. How? Very easily, actually. Our annoying little friend Wind-Up Rabbit is a Lv 3 Beast-Warrior. Wind-Up Rabbit is used for the Factory searches and helps Wind-Ups to go off easier, so why not search for him? And for the players that randomly tech in a Wind-Up Hunter…hate to say it, but Hunter is a Beat-Warrior too!
As for a deck that searches itself – T.G. they really don’t need a lot to go off. Sometimes, one monster might do the trick; well, good that T.G. Warwolf is actually a Lv 3 Beast-Warrior, right? Not to forget our good old friend Reborn Tengu...
And yet another deck that is used to search for their best monsters is the newly emerged Chain Beat deck. It uses cards like Wind-up Rabbit, Winged Rhynos and Evilswarm Thunderbird with a lot of backrow. However, I will not spoil the deck too much, since our Gallade is writing an article about it and will post it sometime in the future.
So, do you guys think Tenki is Over Powered? Post comments for the really rare article brought to you by yours truly.
