Leviair Plants..??
Today is the day that people who have been only looking at the new Dark World support cards an article dedicated to the Plant decks among us again. Seeing that some of the new XYZ monsters released in Generation Force are considered highly abusive. I am mainly going to talk about the most abusive new XYZ monster that was released; Leviair the Sea Dragon. People have been posting on forums that this specific card would make Dark World decks highly effective and some even wish to use the word broken. I myself look at plants and say that this card makes them broken, the reason why I say this is because of the following combo in plant decks.
2 Level 3 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 banished Level 4 or lower monster; Special Summon that target to your side of the field. Let’s say you open a bit messed up but still average, a hand like that would be something like this: 2 Reborn Tengu, 1 Pot of Avarice, 1 One for One, 1 Lonefire Blossom and Mirror Force.
From here on out you have to realize that you can change this hand dramatically while making your board fill up with advantage creators like T.G. Hyper Librarian, Formula Synchron and Leviair the Sea Dragon. How do we do that is as followed:
- Quote :
- 1: Activate One for One, discarding a copy of Reborn Tengu.
2: Special summon Spore from your deck.
3: Summon Lonefire Blossom from your hand, and declare to use its effect tributing Spore, and tribute spore.
4: Special summon your 2nd Lonefire Blossom from your deck, preferably in defense mode.
5: Use the effect of your 2nd Lonefire Blossom and tribute the first Lonefire Blossom.
6: Special summon Dandylion from your deck by the effect of the 2nd Lonefire Blossom, preferably in defense mode.
Your field now is: 1 face-up defense Lonefire Blossom and a face-up defense Dandylion.
Your hand is: 1 Reborn Tengu, Pot of Avarice and Mirror Force.
- Quote :
- 7: You overlay the Lonefire Blossom and Dandylion for your exceed summon of Leviair the Sea Dragon.
8: Special summon Spore from your graveyard by removing the 1st Lonefire Blossom from your graveyard, making your Spore a level 4 tuner monster.
9: Detach Dandylion for the effect of Leviair the Sea Dragon to special the 1st Lonefire Blossom from your Banished zone. Now also you get the 2 fluff tokens from Dandylion, since it was send to the graveyard.
Your field looks like this: 1 Leviair the Sea Dragon ( 1 XYZ material ), 1 Spore ( level 4 ) 1 Lonefire Blossom ( with the ability of using its effect ) and 2 Fluff Tokens.
Your hand: 1 Reborn Tengu, Mirror Force and Pot of Avarice.
From here on out it all depending on the situation you are in, but let’s say it is your opening turn and the first turn of the duel. I myself would go as followed.
- Quote :
- 1: Tribute Lonefire Blossom for himself to special summon Glow up Bulb from your deck, preferably in defense mode.
2: Synchro for T.G. Hyper Librarian using Spore ( level 4 ) and a Fluff token as its materials. Special summon T.G. Hyper Librarian from your extra deck.
3: Synchro for Formula Synchron using Glow up Bulb and your remaining Fluff token. Special summon Formula Synchron and draw 1 card for Librarian and 1 for Formula.
Now your field is: Leviair the Sea Dragon ( 1800 atk, with 1 XYZ material ), T.G. Hyper Librarian ( 2400 atk) and Formula Synchron ( 1500 def, Tuner for Accel if needed ).
Your hand increased to 5 by drawing via Librarian and Formula. Making your hand loss to -1. But your field increased by 3, which itself is a pretty impressive field. Now in our example opening hand we also had Pot of Avarice, and via this combo you have precisely 5 monsters in your graveyard ( Glow up Bulb, Dandylion, Reborn Tengu, Spore and Lonefire Blossom ). So if you wish to go further, you could activate Pot of Avarice and make your hand come back to six cards. So basically you didn’t lose hand advantage but gained a pretty impressive field.
Now let’s say you open pretty broken, something like this: 1 One for One, 1 Dandylion, 1 Lonefire Blossom, Book of Moon, Dark Hole and Limit Reverse.
- Quote :
- 1: Activate One for One, discarding Dandylion. Getting Spore of the deck and 2 fluff tokens since Dandylion was send to the Graveyard.
2: Summon your Lonefire Blossom, activate its effect. Tribute Spore to special summon your 2nd Lonefire Blossom from the deck.
3: Activate the effect of your 2nd Lonefire Blossom, tributing a Fluff Token. To special Glow up Bulb from the deck.
Your Field now is: 2 Lonefire Blossom ( 1 def, 1 atk ), 1 Fluff token (def), 1 Glow up Bulb ( def ).
From here on out you have a lot of options, but once more it’s your opening turn and the first turn of the duel, so I would go like this:
- Quote :
- 1: Overlay the 2 Lonefire Blossom’s to exceed summon Leviair the Sea Dragon.
2: Activate Spore effect, banishing Dandylion. Special summon Spore to the field in defense position as a level 4 tuner.
3: Detach a Lonefire Blossom for the effect of Leviair the Sea Dragon to special summon Dandylion from your banished zone. Special summon Dandylion.
Your field now: Leviair the Sea Dragon ( 1 XYZ material ) Spore ( level 4 ), Dandylion, Glow up Bulb and a Fluff Token. So as you can probably see, you have a lot of options to go with, but seeing I am playing I will go by the following moves.
- Quote :
- 1: Synchro Summon for T.G. Hyper Librarian using the Fluff Token, Dandylion and Glow up Bulb as your materials. Special Summon Librarian from the extra deck and special summon 2 Fluff Tokens.
2: Synchro for yet another Librarian using the level 4 Spore and a Fluff Token. Special summon your 2nd T.G. Hyper Librarian from your extra deck, draw 1 card for the effect of the 1st Librarian.
3: Activate Bulb’s effect, mill your top card and special summon Glow up Bulb from your grave.
4: Synchro summon for Formula Synchron using Glow up Bulb and the remaining Fluff Token.
5: Special summon Formula Synchron from the extra deck and draw 3 cards ( 1 for the 1st Librarian, 1 for the 2nd Librarian and 1 for Formula).
Your hand was halved since you opened your move by using 3 cards, you now have 7 cards in your hand, with a field of 2 T.G. Hyper Librarian, 1 Formula Synchron and Leviair the Sea Dragon ( 1 XYZ material ). So by using just 3 cards of your opening six you now made those 3 into a plus 5. Total gain 8 – total loss of cards= 5. Now of course I could say you also draw into more advantage creators like Monster Reborn and Pot of Avarice or protection cards like Effect Veiler, Solemn Warning/Judgment but there is no telling what you will draw, but one thing is certain; It’s never a bad thing.
Now you could go even further and Delta Accel Synchro into T.G. Halberd Cannon or if you and your opponent agreed on using OCG cards; Shooting Quasar Dragon. Which equals winning.
This all was made possible by the effect of Leviair the Sea Dragon, so yea Leviair will be good in the new Dark World decks, but it will certainly be equally helpful in plant deck. As if plants weren’t good enough already, as a beloved plant user I have to admit it wasn’t needed but it surely is welcome.
So let us all be happy with Leviair the Sea Dragon and let us abuse it in Plant decks as long as we can shall we.
